ESPOL, in partnership with AVISID S.A., conducts hydrogeological studies at poultry farms to identify and sustainably manage water resources. The initiative led to successful drilling, well optimization, and the implementation of nature-based solutions, as well as the publication of a high-impact scientific paper.

A FICT researcher is enhancing her expertise in data analysis and evidence-based decision-making through the ESPOL Bootcamp
Engineer Victoria Rosado, from the Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral, successfully completed the “Data-Driven Decisions Specialist” bootcamp, strengthening her skills in data analysis, artificial intelligence, and evidence-based decision-making, as part of a national initiative launched in partnership with the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Information Society.
Academia and the construction sector are collaborating on proposals to improve road surfaces in Ecuador
On April 13, 2026, a meeting was held at the Guayaquil Chamber of Construction that brought together representatives from the private sector and academia to discuss improvements in pavement design and performance. Participants included industry leaders and faculty members from ESPOL and the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil, who presented technical proposals aimed at optimizing the service life of road infrastructure. The meeting strengthened the partnership between academia and the private sector and paved the way for future collaborations.
