FICT-ESPOL has filled all available spots for the third cohort of its Master’s in Earth Sciences program, thereby establishing a program focused on scientific research, publication in high-impact journals, and preparing graduates for doctoral studies.

The Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) welcomed a group of young people from the ¡Ajá! Science Park summer camp, a non-formal science education program run by ESPOL.

FICT hosted a performance by Sonidos del Sol as part of their institutional tour leading up to Cultural Monday, organized by ESPOL’s Art and Culture Department, where Latin American folk music created a gathering space for the FICT polytechnic community.

The Petroleum Engineering program at FICT contributes to ESPOL’s standing as Ecuador’s top university, according to the results of the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject, one of the most widely recognized international rankings that evaluates academic performance by discipline.

The FICT at ESPOL strengthened ties with Rey Juan Carlos University to promote joint projects, scientific publications, and international academic opportunities for faculty and students.

FICT and CIPAT launched the “Scientific Method” workshop, designed to strengthen skills in research, academic writing, and project development, while promoting the production of scientific articles and the advancement of applied knowledge.

The coordinator of the Geological Engineering program at FICT-ESPOL was honored at the 2026 Doctoral Student Conference at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where her doctoral research was recognized for its contribution to scientific advancement and international collaboration.

The Faculty of Geosciences Engineering at ESPOL, in collaboration with FIVAR S.A. and Leimet Oy, organized an international seminar on innovation in foundation engineering, promoting technical exchange between academia and industry.

The Faculty of Earth Geosciences Engineering at ESPOL participated in the Ecuadorian Commission for UNESCO Geoparks in Quito, presenting updates on geopark projects and strengthening collaboration among academia, the public sector, and international organizations.

The Mining Program at FICT-ESPOL held a strategic meeting to strengthen its academic offerings, focusing on continuous improvement, curriculum updates, and alignment with the needs of the mining sector.
