International Fellowship Strengthens FICT's Geotechnical Research Capabilities

FICT strengthened its research capabilities through an academic visit to the Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where specialized equipment and instrumentation were evaluated for possible implementation at ESPOL. The experience made it possible to identify opportunities for improvement in the laboratories, promote technological upgrades, and strengthen geotechnical training and research in accordance with international standards.

FICT's Mining Program Analyzes Progress and Strategic Actions for 2026

The FICT Mining Program held an academic planning and strategic follow-up meeting to review progress, opportunities for improvement, and actions aimed at strengthening the program. During the session, participants discussed topics related to employability, accreditation, improvement plans, and the development of the future Master’s program in Sustainable Use of Mineral Resources.

Drone Operation Certification Strengthens Research and Technical Capabilities in Engineering

Professor Rafael Cabrera has obtained his Remote Pilot License. This certification aims to strengthen FICT ESPOL’s technical and research capabilities in the use of drones for engineering, surveying, and territorial analysis; it also promotes the integration of emerging technologies into academic and scientific projects, benefiting students’ practical training and the development of innovative solutions.

FICT Presents Its 2026–2027 Institutional Report, Focusing on “Living Engineering”

FICT ESPOL presented its institutional book, “Key Strategies 2026–2027,” a publication that outlines the vision of “Living Engineering,” aimed at integrating teaching, research, innovation, and engagement with society; The document brings together the faculty’s strategic vision, its academic and scientific advances, and the collaborative efforts of the entire FICT community to strengthen sustainable development and the training of new generations of engineers.

ESPOL Freshman Orientation | FICT Welcomes 144 New Students

FICT ESPOL welcomed 144 new students in the Mining, Geology, Petroleum, and Civil Engineering programs during the PAO 2026 Induction Day; the event helped introduce the freshmen to university officials, program coordinators, student associations, and clubs, facilitating their adjustment and promoting a participatory and well-rounded college experience.
