CONDUESPOL promotes training for women in the operation of heavy machinery and road construction equipment, strengthening their technical skills and opportunities for employment in the road sector through collaboration among academia, the public sector, and vocational training programs.

The ESPOL Sustainable Development Club held a social event at FICT to welcome new members and strengthen camaraderie, communication, and teamwork. The event brought together students from various majors and provided an opportunity to introduce the Club’s new executive board and its advisor, Johanna Zambrano Anchundia, M.Sc. The activity highlighted the group’s multidisciplinary nature and the importance of creating spaces for social interaction, leadership, and student participation to promote initiatives related to sustainability.

FICT shared its experience and strategies for strengthening student recruitment and support; the presentation highlighted the impact of FICT’s Strategic Plan for Promoting Academic Programs and the coordinated efforts between administrators and academic teams to promote inclusion, student retention, and access to higher education.

FICT ESPOL welcomed 144 new students in the Mining, Geology, Petroleum, and Civil Engineering programs during the PAO 2026 Induction Day; the event helped introduce the freshmen to university officials, program coordinators, student associations, and clubs, facilitating their adjustment and promoting a participatory and well-rounded college experience.

The career of Geanella Herrera Narváez, a graduate of the Faqculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT), reflects an education that does more than just build knowledge.

A Mining Engineering student was selected as the winner of the prestigious Women in Mining (WIM) Scholarship, an international recognition that promotes female participation in the mining sector.
