The Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) presents the results of the selection process for the “Pioneros de Ingeniería VIVA FICT” International Mobility Program.
Following the review and evaluation of results conducted on August 14, 2026, the Evaluation Committee and the observers met on August 17, 2026, and selected 11 students who met all the requirements set forth in the program guidelines.
The selected students are enrolled in the Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geology, and Petroleum Engineering programs. Their selection is based on a comprehensive evaluation conducted during the process, which considered academic excellence and extracurricular activities, in addition to the minimum requirements defined in the call for applications.

The selection process recognizes candidates who combine academic performance with leadership experience, campus involvement, social commitment, research and scientific development, as well as complementary educational activities. These elements align with the “Pionero” student profile outlined by FICT for this initiative.
The international exchange program is scheduled to take place in Madrid, Spain, from November 21 to December 5, 2026. During this period, the itinerary will include visits to universities, laboratories, and companies, as well as tourism and cultural exchange.
As part of the program, students will aim to broaden their international perspective on science and technology, strengthen their leadership, innovation, and intercultural work skills, and forge ties with universities, laboratories, and companies through technical visits, meetings, and cooperation sessions. The experience also aims for participants to represent FICT and Ecuador in international academic settings and to become agents who spread knowledge within the university community.
FICT congratulates the 11 selected students and invites them to embrace this experience as an opportunity to strengthen their skills, broaden their professional perspectives, and represent the Faculty and ESPOL on the international stage.
