ESPOL, through the Faculty of Life Sciences (FCV), the Center for Research and Applied Technology Projects (CIPAT), and the Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT), conducts regular activities in communities in the Manglaralto parish and in areas along the banks of the Bulubulu River, between the parishes of Virgen de Fátima and Taura. These efforts aim to strengthen water management in areas facing challenges in accessing and managing water.
The activities focus on monitoring the quality and availability of water resources, with the participation of technicians from FCV, CIPAT, and FICT. This work generates relevant information for the communities, promoting more informed practices in water use for both domestic consumption and agricultural activities.
As a result, participating communities have deepened their understanding of the conditions of the water they use, which contributes to greater awareness regarding its conservation and management. This initiative also fosters community integration and strengthens the link between academia and society, aligning with the institution’s commitment to providing solutions to real-world environmental challenges.
The ongoing development of these activities reinforces ESPOL’s role in generating applied knowledge and promoting initiatives that positively impact the quality of life in communities, as well as the sustainability of natural resources.
