FICT promotes international dialogue on sustainable mining and industrial safety

FICT Strengthens Training in Sustainable Mining and Industrial Safety with an International Perspective

The Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) at ESPOL hosted an international seminar on sustainable mining and industrial safety, aimed at creating a forum for the exchange of knowledge on practices that contribute to the development of a more efficient, responsible, and innovative mining industry.

The event featured David León, Ph.D., a professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and a researcher specializing in mining sustainability, who shared insights on the challenges and opportunities in the mining sector from the perspective of sustainability and industrial safety.

The lecture took place on July 14 in the FICT Conference Room and was open to the university community. This event provided participants with international perspectives on issues related to the responsible development of the mining industry.

The event took place as part of the Erasmus+ program, strengthening international academic cooperation and the exchange of knowledge between ESPOL and the Polytechnic University of Madrid. This collaboration helps expand opportunities for collaboration and learning in areas related to Earth Sciences and sustainability.

The initiative reflects FICT's commitment to an educational approach that integrates technical knowledge, sustainability, and international cooperation, promoting learning opportunities that connect the university community with specialists and leading academics from other institutions.
