As part of the 2026 Training Day, the Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the capabilities of its staff by promoting opportunities for continuing education that contribute to improving the institution’s academic and administrative quality.
This initiative is carried out with the support of the Center for Innovation and Educational Services (CISE) through a structured training program aimed at enhancing key competencies to address the current challenges of higher education, particularly in the areas of pedagogical innovation, digital transformation, and cross-cutting skills.
The program includes approximately 30 hours of training, during which staff members take the following courses:
AI for Research: Application of artificial intelligence tools to optimize data collection, analysis, and interpretation processes in research.
Generative AI for Teaching: Strategic use of artificial intelligence tools to design educational resources and enhance teaching.
Creating an Agent with Copilot: Developing skills in the use of Microsoft Copilot and collaborative tools to optimize academic processes.
Techniques for developing teamwork, leadership, and ethics: strengthening soft skills focused on collaborative management and responsible decision-making.
Techniques for improving communication: strategies to enhance effective communication in academic and professional settings.
Critical thinking: how to develop it in students: methodologies to promote reflection, analysis, and intellectual autonomy in teaching-learning processes.
Through this conference, FICT promotes an institutional culture based on continuous learning, recognizing that the ongoing development of human talent is essential to strengthening academic excellence and contributing to the country’s sustainable development.
