The Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) at ESPOL welcomed PhD. Leonardo Gutiérrez, Senior Research Scientist at the Centre for Advanced Process Technology for Urban Resource Recovery (CAPTURE) and International Director of the EC-Water network.

The EC-Water network promotes innovative technologies for sustainable water treatment, with an emphasis on membrane-based processes, resource recovery, and the circular economy.

During his stay, PhD. Gutiérrez gave training and refresher talks at the Geoengineering and Advanced Processes Research Laboratory (GEA–Rlab), aimed at professors and young researchers. These spaces strengthen scientific capabilities and consolidate lines of research in advanced water treatment technologies.

This visit is part of ESPOL's internationalization efforts, reaffirming its commitment to high-impact research and coordination with global networks.
