A new ESPOL Alumni Gathering in Cuenca strengthens ties with graduates and paves the way for new initiatives

Attendees at the Alumni Gathering in Cuenca

The Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) held the ESPOL Alumni Gathering in the city of Cuenca on May 16, 2026—an event aimed at strengthening ties with its graduates and fostering opportunities for interaction that contribute to the development of an active alumni community connected to the institution.

The gathering brought together alumni from different graduating classes and academic departments in a setting for interaction and the exchange of experiences, creating opportunities to strengthen professional networks and foster future collaborative initiatives. The event was part of the institution’s strategies to maintain close ties with graduates and encourage their participation in academic, professional, and community engagement activities.

Institutional leaders participated in the event, including ESPOL’s president, Cecilia Paredes, and the director of External Relations, William Herrera, who spoke with attendees and emphasized the importance of building a community of graduates committed to the university’s growth and the country’s development.

The Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) was also represented at the event by Paulina Vilela, coordinator of the Civil Engineering program. Her participation helped strengthen the school’s ties with its graduates and foster new opportunities for collaboration.

These initiatives help reinforce graduates’ sense of belonging to their alma mater, while creating opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and opportunities for cooperation. In addition, they strengthen the university’s ability to build networks of support and collaboration that benefit students, faculty, and the business sector.
