The Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) at ESPOL is making progress on the filming of the documentary “Land of Giants: FICT Building the Future,” a strategic production that transforms institutional history into a vivid narrative of impact, identity, and vision.
Through testimonials from faculty, administrators, and key stakeholders, the documentary reconstructs the history of the School from the perspective of those who built it, highlighting its contribution to training professionals and developing strategic sectors of the country such as infrastructure, energy, natural resources, and the environment.
More than a historical record, this initiative positions itself as a communication asset for Ingeniería Viva, aimed at demonstrating that engineering at FICT is dynamic, applied, and connected to society. In this context, the production highlights not only its legacy but also the environment in which it is created: laboratories, academic spaces, and real-world settings for learning and research.
The documentary articulates the Faculty’s strategic pillars—purpose-driven education, applied science, impact on society, and institutional recognition—consolidating a narrative consistent with its vision of national and international positioning.
Tierra de Gigantes thus serves as a key tool for strengthening a sense of belonging, preserving academic heritage, and communicating, with greater reach, the role of FICT in the country’s development.
This initiative aligns with ESPOL’s mission to generate knowledge, train competent professionals, and provide solutions to society’s challenges through research, innovation, and knowledge transfer.
At FICT, engineering isn’t just taught.
It’s lived. It’s built. It’s designed.
