The Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) at ESPOL, through its Civil Engineering program and in collaboration with the company FIVAR S.A., organized the international technical seminar “Leimet’s ABB OPTIM Pile Joints.” The event took place at ESPOL’s Gustavo Galindo campus and brought together officials, faculty, students, and industry professionals.
The event featured Teemu Tupala, technical and development manager at the Finnish company Leimet Oy, who spoke about European experience in the use of technology applied to precast piles. During his presentation, he addressed the structural performance and construction advantages of the ABB OPTIM system in deep foundation projects.
This event facilitated the exchange of technical knowledge between academia and industry, providing access to innovative solutions in structural engineering and geotechnics. Such initiatives contribute to student training, the updating of techniques, and the strengthening of professional capabilities in the field of infrastructure.
During the event, the collaboration between representatives from FIVAR S.A. and Leimet Oy was recognized, highlighting the importance of international partnerships in broadening the horizons of future professionals. This collaboration between academia and industry strengthens civil engineering education by incorporating real-world experiences and solutions, thereby contributing to the development of technical skills aligned with the needs of the infrastructure sector.
