The Petroleum Engineering Program at ESPOL’s Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT), in collaboration with Pacifpetrol S.A. and WellPerf, organized the technical seminar “Wireline Well Evaluation and Intervention: From the Acquisition and Interpretation of Electrical Logs to the Design of Blasting Operations.” The event took place on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in a hybrid format. The conference aimed to strengthen students’ academic and professional training through the transfer of specialized knowledge in wireline operations, a fundamental technology for the evaluation, characterization, and intervention of oil wells.
The session was led by Christopher Vásquez, a Wireline Technical Engineer at WellPerf, who presented the comprehensive process involving the acquisition and interpretation of electrical logs, the analysis of information for decision-making, and the design of shot sequences applied to well completion and intervention operations. During the event, participants learned about practical applications used in the hydrocarbon industry, fostering the exchange of experiences between academia and the business sector.
Through initiatives like this, FICT’s Petroleum Engineering program reaffirms its commitment to quality education, promoting the continuous updating of knowledge and partnerships with companies in the industry to strengthen the professional development of its future graduates.
