As part of the EENTITLE project – Ecuadorian ENgineering EducaTors' CapacITy Development and rEcognition, co-financed by the European Union's Erasmus+ program, teachers from the Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) participated in workshops at the Regional Cooperation Conference of Capacity Development Centers (CDC), held in person at the Center for Research and Educational Services (CISE), Building 2C, FARO Classroom.

The FICT was represented by Paulina Vilela, Civil Engineering Coordinator, and Carola Gordillo, professor in the program, who took part in these academic sessions aimed at strengthening engineering education.

On February 5 and 6, 2026, the workshops “Transdisciplinary Integration” and “Designing learning with AI in engineering education” were held, focusing on promoting innovative and current approaches to engineering education.

The first session promoted the incorporation of transdisciplinary perspectives in teaching, highlighting the importance of articulating technical, social, and environmental dimensions to consolidate a more comprehensive, socially responsible education oriented toward solving real problems.

The second session, delivered in English, addressed the integration of artificial intelligence as a tool to support teaching practice, encouraging the development of critical thinking for its pedagogical use. It also reflected on the role of AI in higher education, emphasizing the need for responsible and strategic application, aligned with the educational objectives of engineering degrees.
