FICT Launches the IDEAL+ Academy, Focusing on Technical Training and Industry Partnerships

Ideal Academy

ESPOL’s Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) inaugurated the IDEAL+ Academy on May 8, 2026, in the school’s Satellite Lecture Hall. The initiative aims to strengthen the academic and professional training of the country’s future civil engineers, while also promoting continuing education and collaboration between academia and the private sector.

During the opening ceremony, the IDEAL+ Academy was officially presented—a program developed in collaboration with Ideal Alambrec, a company belonging to the AG Group. The event was attended by 22 students, faculty members, school officials, and representatives from the private sector, creating a space for academic and professional integration.

As part of the program’s launch, Module 1: “Enclosures” was held, taught by architect Makarena Osorio, an international guest speaker. This session addressed topics related to the characteristics, applications, and installation of enclosure and fencing systems in construction projects, allowing students to learn about innovative solutions and strengthen their technical knowledge through an industry-linked experience.

The IDEAL+ Academy will run from May 8 to August 14, 2026, and will include eight specialized modules, as well as technical field trips aimed at strengthening skills in civil engineering and sustainable construction.

This initiative reaffirms FICT's commitment to training highly qualified professionals and fostering strategic partnerships that contribute to the development of the country's construction sector.
