La docente Carola Gordillo (FICT) realiza una visita técnica en The University of Texas at Austin para explorar líneas de investigación en pavimentos. En reunión con el equipo de Jorge Prozzi, se abordó la modelación del desempeño estructural, el análisis de carga de camiones y el uso de tecnologías como LIDAR.

Professor Sergi Nuss of the University of Girona visited ESPOL to strengthen joint projects with FICT and CIPAT, focusing on water resources, land use, and nature-based solutions.

Through CIPAT, FICT-ESPOL conducts geomechanical and hydrogeological studies in mining concessions in Zaruma to identify unstable areas, enhance mining safety, and generate technical information to support decision-making.

FICT hosted a performance by Sonidos del Sol as part of their institutional tour leading up to Cultural Monday, organized by ESPOL’s Art and Culture Department, where Latin American folk music created a gathering space for the FICT polytechnic community.

CIPAT, in collaboration with FICT, organized the “Hidrogeodía 2026” academic program, enhancing training in ecohydrology and sustainable water management through hands-on activities in the La Prosperina Protected Forest and other areas of the ESPOL Gustavo Galindo campus.

Conduct technical field surveys to identify hydraulic, land, and road conditions related to flooding issues in the Jujan canton, in order to gather baseline data to support the development of diagnostic studies and technical proposals.

The Faculty of Earth Geosciences Engineering at ESPOL participated in the Ecuadorian Commission for UNESCO Geoparks in Quito, presenting updates on geopark projects and strengthening collaboration among academia, the public sector, and international organizations.

Graduates from the Master's of Civil Engineering Degree at FICT-ESPOL participated in a community outreach program on septic tank maintenance, disseminating information to prevent waterborne diseases and promote safe sanitation in the community.

On February 25, 2026, The Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) at ESPOL conducted a technical visit to the EMULDEC industrial plant in Calacalí, Quito, with the aim of strengthening university-business links and consolidating support for degree projects in the area of pavements, as well as planning a joint technical workshop on road management and maintenance. This collaboration promotes professional development, knowledge transfer, and applied innovation in road infrastructure, directly benefiting the training of future civil engineers.
