Working meeting strengthens the measurement of learning outcomes in academic quality assurance processes

Reunión de zoom

As part of the initiatives aimed at academic improvement and strengthening quality assurance processes, a working meeting was held to prepare a workshop on the measurement of learning outcomes, as well as to coordinate logistical aspects related to a future external evaluation visit.

Methodologies for Assessing Learning Outcomes

The meeting presented the methodology to be applied in the workshop, focused on the systematic measurement of learning outcomes through program-specific assessment pathways, the selection of key courses, and the definition of assessment tools aligned with each outcome.

Likewise, the use of rubrics with four levels of achievement—initial, developing, satisfactory, and exemplary—was explained, with the aim of reducing subjectivity in the evaluation processes and facilitating the analysis of student performance. These tools allow for the consolidation of information through templates that generate automatic graphs and record improvement actions, with defined responsible parties and deadlines.

Tools to Strengthen Evidence-Based Analysis

During the workshop, a digital agent-based tool for evaluating assessment instruments was also presented. In this context, a demonstration was conducted using the tool to analyze a final project and its associated rubric, identifying opportunities for improvement in the coverage of assessment criteria.

The session addressed concerns regarding the use of these tools and discussed methodological recommendations to ensure traceability between learning outcomes, courses, and assessment instruments.

Continuity of the Academic Improvement Process

The meeting reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to academic quality and continuous improvement, promoting the development of mechanisms that strengthen assessment processes and align them with international quality standards in higher education.

These actions contribute to strengthening academic training and developing educational programs focused on excellence and professional performance.
