On April 13, the lecture “Water for Human Consumption” was held in the ESPOL conference room. This in-person event was designed to encourage reflection on the importance of drinking high-quality water for health. The activity was attended by professors and researchers involved in water management.
During the session, key criteria for identifying water suitable for human consumption were discussed, including pH measurement in different samples. This activity allowed attendees to understand technical aspects related to water quality and its direct impact on well-being. Additionally, the Agua ESPOL project was presented, highlighting its contribution to campus water management and its technical approach.
The talk featured Dr. Henrique Carrión, alongside the Dean of FICT, Eng. Paúl Carrión, Ph.D., and professors and researchers from CIPAT. The event also facilitated networking with specialists and authorities in the water sector, strengthening collaborative efforts regarding this resource.
This initiative contributes to the education of the ESPOL community on health and sustainability issues, promoting responsible water consumption practices. It also reinforces ESPOL’s institutional commitment to generating applied knowledge for the efficient management of natural resources.
Where water is life, engineering is the way to protect it, manage it, and ensure its quality for future generations.
