On January 16, 2026, the Faculty of Geosciences Engineering (FICT) at ESPOL held the closing ceremony for the Holcim Academy 2025 – II PAO. This initiative, which began on October 3, provided an intensive practical training space where future engineers directly engaged with the most demanding standards of the construction industry.

The Holcim Academy was established as a strategic response to bridge the gap between theoretical university education and the technical demands of the productive sector. Historically, Holcim has maintained cooperation agreements with prestigious institutions across the country, with ESPOL being one of its most important strategic allies.

Throughout its editions, this program has established itself as a benchmark for knowledge transfer, allowing industry experts to share cutting-edge methodologies on concrete technology, sustainability, and efficiency in construction processes.

The program, executed in conjunction with FICT-ESPOL, was based on the following pillars:

  • Technical Strengthening: Training students in the use and application of new materials and current regulations.

  • Academy–Industry Partnership: Connecting students with real-world scenarios and operational challenges they will face in their professional lives.

  • Innovation: Promoting construction solutions that respond to today's sustainability challenges.

We thank the students, faculty, and strategic partners for their commitment and active participation. The closing of this edition represents not only the awarding of certifications but also the validation of a collaborative learning model that is transforming the future of engineering in the country.

At FICT, we reaffirm our commitment to continue promoting these spaces that prepare our professionals to lead infrastructure development in Ecuador with a global and technical vision.
