ESPOL is fostering academic partnerships in Italy and participating in a formal ceremony in Genoa

ESPOL Strengthens Its International Academic Cooperation in Italy

The Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) carried out an international working visit from April 11 to 17, 2026, in the cities of Florence, Padua, and Genoa, with the aim of strengthening academic cooperation in undergraduate and graduate programs. The delegation was led by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Paola Romero Crespo, alongside Maurizio Mulas.

During the visit to the universities of Florence and Padua, meetings were held to develop proposals for inter-institutional agreements. These initiatives aim to promote joint activities in academic training, fostering mobility, the exchange of knowledge, and the development of collaborative programs among higher education institutions.

As part of the agenda, the ESPOL delegation participated in the formal unveiling ceremony in Genoa of a bust honoring Luis Parodi Valverde, former Vice President of the Republic and former rector of the institution. This presence reaffirms the university’s historical and academic ties, as well as its recognition of figures who have contributed to institutional development.

The event helped solidify cooperation proposals with Italian universities, strengthening ESPOL’s international presence and expanding educational opportunities for students and faculty. These efforts contribute to the institution’s standing within global academic networks and to the development of joint initiatives that have an impact on higher education.
