As part of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education international accreditation process, the EUR-ACE Postgraduate Workshop 2026 was held with the aim of consolidating the definition and alignment of Learning Outcomes (LO) and the training and assessment pathways for programs.

Strategic alignment for EUR-ACE accreditation

During the workshop, participants worked on reviewing and adjusting the LR vs. Graduate Profile and LR vs. EUR-ACE Competencies matrices, ensuring consistency with the guidelines of the Higher Education Council (CES) and international quality standards. The process included validating the match between learning outcomes, program subjects, and the competencies established by the EUR-ACE model.

The workshop emphasized the importance of using Bloom's Taxonomy to write measurable outcomes, incorporating explicit components of engineering design and research, and ensuring balance in competencies such as communication, teamwork, and ethical responsibility.

Training and assessment pathways: consistency and traceability

Adjustments were made to the training pathways, ensuring that each learning outcome is developed in strategic subjects and distributed evenly across the academic periods (PAO 1 and PAO 2). Likewise, measurement paths were reviewed to ensure that each LR has at least two instances of evaluation, avoiding concentrations or redundancies.

The workshop included hands-on work on Excel matrices, where coordinators validated observations, made final adjustments, and consolidated the official documents that will form part of the accreditation self-study.

Role of the coordinator and next steps

The role of the program coordinator as the quality assurance coordinator was highlighted, responsible for supervising academic evidence, following up on improvement plans, and ensuring the sustainability of the process.

The following steps were established: the development and consensus of assessment rubrics, the implementation of RA training in current courses, the execution of measurements with validated instruments, and the collaborative drafting of the EUR-ACE self-study.
