Profile for pre-professional internships (PE)
The following conditions enable PE students to conduct pre-professional internships:
a) Curriculum: When either level 300-2 or 40 subjects are approved. Thenceforth, the student has developed initial and intermediate competences, and abilities about certain PE program areas, such as Introduction to Petroleum Engineering, Drilling, Fluid Flow in Porous Media and Properties and Phase Behavior of Fluids.
b) At the Level 500-1, the internships focus on every program area: Drilling, Production, Surface Facilities, Reservoir and Oil Recovery.
c) Ability to perform laboratory tests and interpret the results
d) Knowledge of drilling, workover and oil production.
e) Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
f) Excellent oral and written expression.
g) Ability to participate in technical meetings in different areas of study.
h) Ability sizing a pipe system within a process plant.
i) Ability to analyze the properties of reservoir fluids.
j) Knowledge of technical English.
k) Basic knowledge of industrial safety.
l) Management software used in the oil industry.
m) Knowledge of regulations, environmental laws and procedures associated with the hydrocarbon area.
